What I can help with

I am trained in helping people to understand why they developed certain difficulties and to provide them with coping strategies to tackle the issues they are facing.  This is with the aim of helping people get back into the life they care about and lead fulfilling lives.

Things may feel difficult at the moment and you may have been dealing with these issues for a short or long period of time.  Therapy may be able to help.

I see adults for individual sessions to work on a range of difficulties including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression or low mood

  • Phobias

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Sleep problems

  • Improving assertiveness

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

  • Low confidence/self esteem

  • Stress management

  • Social anxiety

It is usual for people not to be sure how to label what they are experiencing or it may not fit under a certain category.  Other difficulties that therapy can help with include:

  • Lack of motivation and enjoyment

  • Procrastination

  • Self-criticism

  • Shame

  • Work stress

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Recurring distressing thoughts

  • Perfectionism

  • Mood swings

  • Traumatic experiences

  • Focus and concentration

  • Excessive worry

These lists are by no means exhaustive, therefore if you are unsure please feel free to call or email me to have an informal discussion about your needs and current situation.  If I am unable to offer you help then I will endeavour to signpost you to an appropriate healthcare professional or other helpful resources.
