My approach
My approach to therapy is an active and practical one. With respect and compassion, I hope to develop a joint understanding of your situation and teach you skills that may help you to overcome your difficulties. These may include supporting you to try out new ways of thinking, addressing unhelpful behaviours that may be holding you back, learning to manage emotions differently and working on how you relate to others.
In order to maximise the benefits of traditional Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I integrate techniques from the following therapeutic approaches in order to tailor sessions to your needs:
Compassion Focused Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Mindfulness
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)
You are at the centre of therapy, therefore the number of sessions will be agreed upon based on your personal requirements and circumstances.
